Tara was born and raised in Decatur, Alabama and has always remained close to home. After graduating from Hartselle High School in 1990, Tara attended The University of Alabama where she worked with the Crimson Tide football team as a Bama Belle. Tara graduated from Alabama in 1994 with a degree in Mathematics and Secondary Education. In addition, she earned a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from The University of Alabama at Birmingham. Tara taught math for eighteen years and coached cheerleading at Austin High School and Bob Jones High School during that time. During her career, Tara coached nine state championship cheer teams and seven national championship cheer teams. 

After 18 years in the classroom, Tara became an elementary school principal in Morgan County. She currently serves as the principal of Danville-Neel Elementary School, a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence Lighthouse School. Tara has been a principal for ten years and has just recently joined the MarMac Commercial team as a Realtor.

Tara enjoys sporting events and spending time with her family. Tara has a daughter, Larsen Murphy, who attends The University of Alabama and two sons, Brodie Morrow and Jaxon Morrow who attend Hartselle High School.
